thefriendlyclub_logoNational Camping and Caravanning Week marks its 10th anniversary this year as The Club continues to celebrate the nation’s growing love of camping, caravanning and the great outdoors.

NCCW 2010 will run from Saturday, May 29 to Friday, June 4 and will this year adopt a “Get Togethers” theme as both new and experienced campers are given the opportunity to come together and have fun.

The Club’s Director General Robert Louden said: “NCCW is all about encouraging people to spread the word and share that love of the outdoors with family and friends, who may not have camped before. People can even use NCCW as a springboard for their own fundraising or social events.”

There will be a Gelert-sponsored children’s drawing competition (under-5s, under-10s and under-15s) as kids are asked to show off their artistic side by drawing what they love most about camping.

Adults can also get involved in “Our Great Get Together” competition as campers are requested to send in pictures with 200 words telling The Club who their get together was with, why and where they decided to camp.

Campers and caravanners are also invited to join in the fun that week at The Club’s popular New to Camping event at Warwick Castle on June 2 and 3.

An “Ask the Expert” theme will see retailers, manufacturers and dealers from across the industry offer help and advice to help people get started.

Club President David Bellamy and TV Presenter Julia Bradbury (tbc), who has endorsed the New to Camping campaign, are also set to be in attendance.
