Readers Letters
22nd January, 2010
SIR,
Myself and my wife visited the Caravan show at Manchester on the 21st January 2010 and we found that the show appeared to have been overtaken by a variety of ‘Holiday homes’ for sale which in our opinion had taken up a large amount of space anf therefore opportunities to view new caravans and motorhomes.
It seems to be a strange decision to include this aspect into our hobby. Had we known about the decision to include this in the show then we would not have attended.
In addition to this we also found that the accessories section appeared to have been taken over by stalls selling heat packs, Burgers and Sausages.( Where was the accessories that we could by to improve our hobby)
would you consider running a feature on what people from our hobby would like to see at a show? because it appears to us that the organisers of this event have missed the point by a country mile.
The only item of interst to us was the new Chausson Motorhome with the electric drop down bed. However it was only activated on the hour and it was 3.30pm when we were looking at it and to be honest there was nothing to keep us interested for half hour so we have not seen it working. perhaps we may see it soon on your show. (We will happily test it if you need us to)
Please do not think my comments are meant as a critiscism of the caravanning and motorhoming, it is not, we both love it, but our expectations of the show were left short due to this explosion of Holiday homes and other unrelated items which seemed to be there just to fill the stalls.
Could you please feed this back to the event orgainsers?
Kind regards
Greg & Angela O’Neill
